How I Saw God at the Masters 2026 Tournament

How I Saw God at the Masters 2026 Tournament

It feels like I’ve been traveling nonstop this year and barely had time to be home and rest.

That’s exactly what I was thinking when a friend asked me if I wanted to come to Georgia.

Yes, we’d make videos. Yes, we’d hang out. But if I’m being honest, I didn’t really want to get out of my routine again. You know how it is when you travel. It sounds fun until you actually have to go.

But then he said something that changed everything.

“You really don’t want to miss this.”

I said, “Oh yeah? Why’s that?”

He said, “Because we’re going to the Masters Tournament.”

I was shocked.

If you know anything about this tournament, you know how hard it is to get tickets. The odds are exceptionally low. Hundreds of thousands of people apply every year, and only a small number get selected. Most people never experience it unless they pay a premium.

So I bought the plane ticket and flew to Augusta, Georgia.

And let me tell you, it lived up to everything.

Everyone was dressed classily. The atmosphere felt different. The merch, the concession stands, the course, it honestly felt like golf Disney World. We walked the course, followed the players, ate the famous pimento cheese and BBQ sandwiches, and took it all in.

It felt like an honor just to be there.

And on the way back, I couldn’t stop thinking about that word.

Honor.

Because not everyone gets in.

And that’s when it hit me.

That’s what salvation is like.

Heaven isn’t something you just casually walk into. It’s not automatic just because you’ve heard about Jesus. There’s one way in.

Jesus says in John 14:6, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

Access is limited.

But here’s the difference between the Masters and heaven.

You can’t earn your way into the Masters.

But Jesus is freely offering you the way into heaven.

Ephesians 2:8–9 says, “For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.”

It’s a gift.

A ticket you didn’t deserve.
A ticket you couldn’t earn.
A ticket Jesus paid for.

And that leads to the real question.

If you have that “ticket,” are you actually living like it?

Because I didn’t fly all the way to Augusta just to stand at the entrance.

I didn’t get access just to sit around and waste the day.

I studied the course.
I followed the players.
I experienced everything I possibly could.

I lived it up.

So why do we treat our faith differently?

We’ve been given access to something infinitely greater than a golf tournament.

Access to God.
Access to purpose.
Access to peace.
Access to eternal life.

And yet some of us barely open our Bibles.

We stay on the surface.

We don’t fully step into what we’ve been invited into.

Hebrews 4:16 says, “Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.”

We have access.

So let’s use it.

Dive into His Word.
Walk with Him daily.
Don’t just know about Him. Experience Him.

Because one day we won’t just talk about heaven.

We’ll be there.

Reflection Questions

  1. If you truly believed heaven was your eternal destination, what would change about how you live today?
  2. Are you treating your relationship with God like full access, or just visiting occasionally?
  3. What is one practical way you can go deeper with God this week (Bible reading, prayer, community, obedience)?
