At 90 Years Old, Bruce Willis' Mom Has Been Volunteering For the LAPD, For Over 20 Years

A woman named Marlene Willis has been volunteering for the LAPD for more than 20 years. The 90-year-old, known around the station as “Mrs. Willis,” was recently honored for her decades of service. She also happens to be the actor Bruce Willis’ mom.

90-year-old Marlene Willis is a big part of the LAPD’s West LA station. She has volunteered for them for over two decades now and shows no sign of stopping her work supporting police officers and staff.

Although Marlene is Bruce Willis’ mom, she doesn’t make a point of it at the station. She is there to serve.

“I want to help as much as I can,” she says. And that is exactly what she has done.

You can tell she is not only loved by everyone at the station but also extremely appreciated.

“Mrs. Willis is a very integral part of West Los Angeles and the LAPD,” shares the station’s commanding officer.

She is a Part of the LAPD Family

Marlene has also been recognized as the LAPD’s Volunteer of the Year.

“While I can’t make her a cop, I can at least give her the greatest symbol of what it means to be a cop,” Former Chief of Police Michael Moore says. “And that is a badge of the Los Angeles police department.”

It is clear that Marlene is a part of the LAPD family. “This is my family. I mean that. I mean that 100%,” she shares.

And even beyond her actual duties at the station, her presence there makes quite a difference. “Just her presence here with our officers is huge,” another officer shares. Giving a police officer a hug upon their return to the station is just one example.

What a blessing to have someone like Marlene work hard to ensure life is a little easier for those serving our communities.
