Father and Son Audition Together to ‘That’s Life’
Fathers have a massive impact on their children. After a man becomes a dad, his words and actions take on greater importance. His children are looking at him as an example of what to say and do. One video is a perfect example of the impact a father’s actions have on his offspring.
Dave and Dean, a father-son duo, step out onto the stage ready to compete on Britain’s Got Talent. However, before Dave and Dean perform, they tell the judges a little about themselves.
Dave, the father, explains that he has been performing professionally for more than five decades. That father’s example had a profound impact on Dean's life.
“Then Dean, as a child, watched me and then he thought, ‘I’m gonna emulate me dad,” Dave said.
Seeing this example from his dad sent him into a singing and performing career as well.
Dave and Dean then proceed to give a powerhouse performance of Frank Sinatra’s “That’s Life.” By the end of the song, the father and son act has the entire studio audience, including all four judges, on their feet applauding and cheering!
The judges’ love and appreciation for Dave and Dean did not stop there. They shared kind words for the act.
Simon Cowell, in a positive review of their performance, compared Dave and Dean to a cup of a popular hot drink.
“There are certain days when you think, ‘You know what I need? I need a mug of hot chocolate,”’ Simon said. “And you were that mug of hot chocolate. Really, I think you have a great dad, and you have a great son. The relationship is amazing.”
When it came time to cast their votes for the act, all four judges sent Dave and Dean on to the next round, even Simon!
What a fantastic performance!
Proverbs 22:6 “Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.”
