Comedic legends Dick Van Dyke and Carol Burnett play some of the dullest people imaginable in a hilarious skit from The Carol Burnett Show.

Having charisma and immediately capturing people’s attention is a gift. Some people have it and others do not. Everyone wants to believe they are interesting and can hold someone’s attention long enough for a meaningful conversation. 

But unfortunately, that’s not always the case. We all know people who are just dull, boring and bland. Of course, we’d never admit such a thing. However, getting cornered by this individual and hearing another one of their long, drawn-out and completely uninteresting stories is one of the worst things possible. You know I’m right, even if you don’t want to admit it.

So, what happens when you get two of the most boring people together? The Carol Burnett Show did that, and the results are absolutely hysterical.

Dick and Carol play two individuals at a party. Both are standing off by themselves, with no one talking to them. Soon enough, we learn exactly why that is the case.

As the clip begins, Dick spots Carol and then cautiously approaches her. He soon admits that he has little experience talking with others and that talking to himself gets old after some time. 

Carol, who appears to be frightened, as she stands silently as Dick drones on and on about his lack of experience with human interaction. 

Despite their initial hesitancy, things progress to the point where they sit down beside one another. Both then tell these long, drawn-out, and uninteresting tales. Funnily enough, Carol and Dick pick up on how boring the other person is quickly. They interrupt the other to continue their story that the other is not interested in hearing. 

While these characters are not exactly the most charming in the world, Carol and Dick still manage to provide plenty of laughs. Their facial expressions, mannerisms and blunt answers are laugh-out-loud hilarious.
