Producer of ‘Jesus Revolution’ Movie Shares About Miracles

Filmmaking is a complex and often arduous process, but one of the producers of the new movie “Jesus Revolution,” said they received continual and unexpected help!

The film “Jesus Revolution,” which opened in theaters in late February, tells the story of the origins of a spiritual reawakening that ended up sweeping the nation in the 1970s. A pastor, played by Kelsey Grammer, in southern California opens his arms and the doors to his church and wholeheartedly welcomes a group of hippies searching for something real, looking for the truth.

In an interview with Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN), Kevin Downes, one of the film’s producers, said there were miracles throughout the filmmaking process.

“There’s moments of miracles whenever you make a film. I mean, obviously the entire process,” Kevin said. “But this one had miracle after miracle where you really, we really sensed and felt God’s presence throughout the entire process.”

As the interview goes on, the CBN segments pointed to how Kelsey came to be a part of the film as a miracle. The segment then plays a short clip of Kelsey explaining how he first learned about the film “Jesus Revolution.”

“I was having sort of a late night and I sat in my living room, and I was thinking, ‘Geez, I want to do something that actually has some value beyond just the fact that I’m doing another role or something that I enjoy playing,’” Kelsey said. “And uh, the very next morning, this script was delivered to my house.”

Additionally, the CBN clip hints that the weather and how even the sun cooperated during the making of the movie was a miracle. Right after the producer mentions miracle after miracle, one person tells someone else that “the sun, everything’s perfect.”

“Jesus Revolution” is rated PG-13 for strong drug content involving teens and some thematic elements, according to IMDB.

Philippians 4:8 “Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are honest, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.”
