'Wonka' Film Based On Roald Dahl's Famous Book Hits Theaters This Winter

You have to check out this whimsical movie trailer for the new ‘Wonka’ film based on Roald Dahl’s famous book. The film hits theaters this winter, and it looks like it will be a wonderful movie to go see with the family!

“I’ve spent the past seven years traveling the world, perfecting my craft,” Willy Wonka, played by Timothée Chalamet, says at the beginning of the trailer. “You see, I’m something of a magician, inventor, and chocolate maker. So quiet up and listen down. Nope. Scratch that, reverse it.”

This movie tells the story of the extraordinary character at the center of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Roald Dahl’s most iconic children’s book and one of the best-selling children’s books of all time. The movie ‘Wonka’ will share the backstory of Willy Wonka and how he became the beloved character that we know today.

The movie is directed by Paul King, who made the Paddington films, and it was produced by David Heyman, who worked on the Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts films. With this inventive big screen spectacle, audiences will be able to meet a young Willy Wonka and see how anything is possible if you keep working towards your dream.

“This makes me feel like I've been brought back to my childhood,” one person comments on YouTube after watching the movie trailer. “Can't wait to watch this!”

“Okay, good to know this is a film that knows it is goofy and silly, but in a way that feels sincere and full of effort and fun. Not to mention the cast looks incredible, and the director has never actually made a bad film, so I got a good feeling about this one,” another person writes online.

‘Wonka’ is set to open in theaters and in IMAX internationally beginning in December 2023. Make sure you catch it with your family when it comes out!
