‘Johnny B. Goode’ is a song by Chuck Berry that was released in 1958. It is quite popular and a staple of rock music.

The song begins with,

“Deep down in Louisiana close to New Orleans

Way back up in the woods among the evergreens

There stood a log cabin made of earth and wood

Where lived a country boy named Johnny B. Goode”

It is the story of a semi-literate “country boy” who plays a guitar and is a bit autobiographical in nature. The song is well-known for many generations, whether they have grown up listening to it or first heard it in a popular movie such as Back to the Future.

The song is upbeat and catchy, and the lyrics are easy to remember, which is another reason the song is so popular. Rhys and Allie do an amazing job of performing this classic song for those on the streets of Dublin and the world through the YouTube video.

“Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.” - Romans 15:13

A Prayer for Victory over Sinful Thoughts - Your Daily Prayer - July 26

Winning requires us to remember our Rock, who rescues us and gives us a firm standing place, and our Redeemer, who rescues us from total loss.
