Sermon: "The Gift-Giving Christ," Part 2
As Christmas approaches, we think of the gifts we will give to our loved ones and the joy that comes during this time of year. Perhaps we do so because at the birth of Christ the Magi came and presented to him their gifts of gold, incense, and myrrh. But Christ not only receives gifts from men, he also gives them! By his triumph over death and glorous ascension into heaven, he blesses the church with gifts that far surpass our gold, incense, and myrrh. Each of them is vital to our spiritual life. Watch as Pastor MacLaren explains what gifts Christ has given us today that specially promote the peace and unity of the church. This sermon was recorded at First Presbyterian Church in Perkasie, PA, on December 14, 2008. The sermon is based on Paul's words in Ephesians 4:7-16. A Prayer to Help You Comfort Others - Your Daily Prayer - April 25
Have you ever wondered if there is any purpose in your suffering? We certainly don’t go looking for suffering—it comes to us because life is a journey through difficulties and triumphs. Sufferings are a reminder of what Jesus Christ went through and it is a way for us to encourage others.
