Many ministers will begin and end their worship services by raising their hands and pronouncing the Lord's salutation or benediction, greeting and blessing the church of the Lord Jesus Christ as she gathers for worship. They do so in the name of the Lord, and so it is as though God himself greeted his people. But Isaiah tells of a time when God raised his hand, not through an emissary, but personally, to bring judgment and curse on those who had left his worship in preference for their own gods. Watch as Pastor MacLaren talks about the uncomfortable subject of the wrath of God, and the many ways in which we avoid an obvious truth. This sermon was preached at First Presbyterian Church in Perkasie (www.firstchurchopc.com) on Sunday, June 14, 2009
