Top 10 Flyleaf Songs Of All Time

Flyleaf is a heavy rock and metal band from Texas, formed officially in 2002. They released their first album in 2005 and have released four full-length albums since. Flyleaf had four tacks rank in the top five slots across various radio stations.

The band has a lead vocalist (Lacey Sturm [2000-2012]; Kristen May [2012-present]), lead guitarist (Sameer Bhattacharya), rhythm guitarist (Jared Hartmann), bassist (Pat Seals), and percussionist (James Culpepper). This five peace band has traction; fans of their music can expect more from them ahead.

The following is a list of my 10 favorite Flyleaf songs-including some of their underdog songs

10. Believe in Dreams

Most agree, pursuing dreams is a goal to be achieved in one’s life. “Believe in Dreams” encourages the pursuit of your passions for what you love.

Favorite Lyric - "Believe in dreams you love so much. Let the passion of your heart make them real. And tell all the ones you love, anything and everything you feel."

9. Call You Out

The truth has a way of exposing lies in our life. Either ones we have told or have been lead on to believe. Now is the time to follow after what is true, call the lies out with the truth.

Favorite Lyric - "Your time's up now. That's enough now. Shut up, get out! Truth called you out.”

"The Truth": “So Jesus said to the Jews who had believed him, ‘If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.’” (John 8:31-32)

8. Light in Your Eyes

Sameer, on Twitter, revealed this song was written about his wife and God’s leading role in their relationship. It is important to be love as God does and rest in His arms.

Favorite Lyric - “Pour the wine. Light revives. Lowering walls that divide.”

7. There For You

For the most part, comparatively speaking, this track is chilled down in light of most of their songs. This song is a reminder that God is there for you and He is a true friend you can count on. He will forgive you over and over again when you ask Him to.

Favorite Lyric - “Sometimes I'm a selfish fake. You’re always a true friend, and I don't deserve you ’cause I'm not there for you. Please forgive me again.”

"The Truth": “Put on then, as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive.” (Colossians 3:12-13)

6. New Horizons

As we go about living our lives, often we hit speed bumps in the road. Some bumps are larger than others. At some point we can realize that there are new horizons up ahead and we should make our way toward them.

Favorite Lyric - “So you're tired but you're alive. So open up your eyes, and you can get your sleep when you are dead. Kill the clock inside your head. Bring your normalcy to the edge, and watch it drown in new horizons.”

5. Fully Alive

Without God in our lives we can never be fully alive. Often we will not notice we are alive without ever living or sometimes only when we reach rock bottom. This song challenges me to live a full life.

Favorite Lyric - “All my complaints shrink to nothing. I’m ashamed of all my somethings. She’s glad for one day of comfort only because she has suffered.”

4. Justice & Mercy (Violent Love Version)

Justice and mercy are often two things that many people are passionate about. It is important to be seekers of justice, mercy, peace, and attributes of the like. Where these two meet, is where they “kiss” according to the song lyric.

Favorite Lyric - “Life, here sacrificed. Someone who payed the price. Blood in our hearts. Blood on our hands.”

"The Truth": “He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?” (Micah 6:8)

3. Again

With one of the coolest song introductions I have heard in awhile, how could this song not make it on to this list for its musical content. Atop that, its lyrics will touch you.

Favorite Lyric - “Love that you're never satisfied with face value wisdom and happy lies. You take what they say and go back and cry. You’re so close to me that you nearly died.”

 2. I'm So Sick

Although the musical style of this song is not my favorite it has some "sick" lyrics (pun intended). They reach to the depths of a heart that recognizes it is ill.

Favorite Lyric - “I'm so sick. Infected with where I live. Let me live without this empty bliss, selfishness. I'm so sick. I'm so sick.”

1. All Around Me

It is on everyone's top of the charts listings and it won’t be an exception for mine. This is one of their oldest but it still can be considered on of their best songs.

Favorite Lyric - “And I can feel you all around me, Thickening the air I'm breathing. Holding on to what I'm feeling, Savoring this heart that's healing.”

"The Truth": “He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.” (Psalm 147:3)
