Simple Facebook Post Turns an Empty Birthday Party Into a Viral Celebration for a 9-Year-Old Girl

A mom in Kingsville, Texas, was determined to give her 9-year-old the party of her dreams after working so hard on her birthday. So when no one showed up, she felt terrible. After she made a quick Facebook post, people rallied together in support. The community saved the birthday. 

A Party With No Guests

“She was really excited. She was just kind of anticipating, ‘Are you guys going to be done decorating by the time that people get here?’” said 9-year-old Eisley’s mom, Samantha Chamberlain. 

After they finished decorating a large room at the local Pizza Hut, no one showed up.

“And I just thought to myself, no, right? Because here I am finally able to make the birthday party and nobody’s here,” Samantha said. “I kind of felt like I failed a little bit, and I know that’s not right, but I kind of felt like I failed her.”

Once she made a Facebook post explaining the situation and asking anyone to come, they showed up.

Community Saves Birthday

“This place that we’re in right now was full. It was filled with people,” Samantha said. “I started thinking, my goodness, if everybody comes, there’s no way that I’m going to be able to afford all of this.”

Neighbors and policemen came, and many even brought gifts for Eisley. 

“It was really nice to be able to do that for her, and again, we have a daughter, so I just think about her and I hope that it brought a smile to her face knowing that we’re here,” said one attendee, Karina Roberts.

Better Than the Family Could Have Imagined

Eisley thought it was a wonderful party.

“I think it went great… Maybe a little bit better than great,” Eisley said.

It’s so sad that none of Eisley’s classmates attended her party, but it’s just wonderful that people in the community made last-minute plans to prioritize a little girl on her birthday… Happy Birthday, Eisley!
