My 10 Favorite Christian Metal Songs For A Workout

Metal is the best music to workout to for me.  The aggressive breakdowns, hard hitting riffs, solos, growls, screams and clean vocals push me to give everything I’ve got!  There are so many Christian metal bands that I’ve listened to throughout the years and I’m sure I’ve worked out to every metal album I have.  Although my favorites will change from time to time, these 10 songs are a must in my work out routine.  Here are my 10 favorite Christian metal songs that push me while I work out.

10. Brutal Warfare, Mortification

This is an old one from 1990!  These guys are one of the front runners of Christian metal and this song is proof!

Favorite Lyric

9. Purify, Six Feet Deep

This one is digging into the vault!  Many people don’t know these guys but back in the 90’s these guys delivered some good music.

“Pull the wool from my eyes: sensitize me.  Cut the cancer from inside: purify me.  Send Your cleansing rain: saturate me.  Burn away this pain: drench and drain me.”

8. White Washed, August Burns Red

Favorite Lyric

“You ask me to be blameless.  You ask me to be blameless, but who are you to decide what's right?  Don't say another word!  Don't say another word, you've crossed the line!”

7. Wake Up, Wolves At The Gate

This song’s lyrics are awesome, speaking truth to many who pretend to be “Christian”.

Favorite Lyric

“The world is lining you up and bids you to come to live on the edge till your heart it is numb.  Lining you up and bids you farewell, to look like the righteous but still live like hell.”

6. A Call To The Faithful, Inhale Exhale

This is also a song about those who live 2 different lives and pretend to be “Christian”.

5. Calloused, Gideon

Favorite Lyric

“Calloused and cold, not afraid to fail.  Life's not a bed of roses, it's a bed of nails.”

4. Endseekers, Oh Sleeper

Favorite Lyric

“What do my eyes perceive?  It's so contrary to the promise that secured us and you’re nowhere to be found.  You can't just up and leave!  Abandonment is the thumbprint of that cur who just hit the ground!  You lead us straight to hell!  This is hell!  This is hell!”

3. Bloodwork, Living Sacrifice

Favorite Lyric

2. Fearless, For Today

This is one of my favorite Christian metal songs.  It’s about standing strong.  It’s about not being afraid because we have God, we bear His image.  Satan has no power over us!”

“We bear the mark of the uncreated God so what should we fear?  We bear the scars of the holy risen Son so tell me what should we fear?  Every threat is hollow because our victory is already set in stone!”

Bonus Lyric

1. Murderer, Impending Doom

This song is so heavy!  Brooke’s scream at the beginning pushes me to try my hardest.  Murderer is a two-fold song.  The first part is about the Antichrist and how he will fall.  The second part is about how our sin put Christ on the cross.  We are murderers but His blood washes us clean!  Here are the lyrics for this awesome song!

Conclusion
