'Bridge Over Troubled Water' Natalie Grant And Tasha Cobbs Leonard Duet

'Bridge Over Troubled Water' Natalie Grant And Tasha Cobbs Leonard Duet

When God doesn’t take away the troubled waters of life, He becomes the bridge to make a way through. If you need safe passage, listen to ‘Bridge Over Troubled Water’ in this beautiful duet performance with Natalie Grant and Tasha Cobbs Leonard.

In a raw impromptu music session, Natalie and Tasha lend their commanding soulful voices inspiring hope and encouragement through ‘Bridge Over Troubled Water.’ The song was written in 1969 when America was in turmoil during the Vietnam War. The country was treading water over losing Martin Luther King and losing faith in the current president. Originally released by Simon and Garfunkel, it swept across the hearts of Christians. Simon was inspired to write ‘Bridge Over Troubled Water’ after listening to the ‘Swan Silvertones’ 1959 Gospel song ‘Oh Mary Don’t You Weep.’

Over three decades later, the troubled atmosphere of the world eerily mirrors those times. Everywhere we turn, turmoil, pain, and crisis face us. This song echos our insecurity and fears while pointing us to someone who can help us find safe passage over the raging waters.

“When you’re down and out, when you’re on the street when evening falls so hard, I will comfort you.
I’ll take your part. Oh, when darkness comes and pain is all around,
Like a bridge over troubled water, I will lay me down
Like a bridge over troubled water, I will lay me down.”

Together, Natalie and Tasha infuse this song with promises of God’s comfort, triumph, and hope. Their performance is an intimate, raw recording session where their voices intertwine beautifully, filled with unity and resilience. Their poignant performance arrives at a fitting time to remind us God will be the bridge to safety and peace through uncertain times. Both, Natalie and Tasha’s talent shines through in this beautiful rendition that will deeply resonate in your heart. May their performance be the first of many stepping stones to take your burdens to Jesus.

Matthew 11:28-30 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.  Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
