“So, what’s your big goal? Dream?” ask José’s wife when they first started dating. “I want to be an astronaut.” She giggles in his face until she realizes that he is being serious. “I’ve wanted this for almost thirty years. Every decision I’ve made, I’ve made with the space program in mind,” José says in the trailer.

This is an amazing story of perseverance, community, and sacrifice in order to make a dream come true.

“Over the last ten years, I’ve applied to the space program twelve times, and I’ve been on the verge of giving up after each and every rejection,” José says in the movie trailer while he is turning in his application at NASA. “But you know what, sir? Here I am. So you can turn me down again, but rest assured I’ll be standing here again in a year.”

This decades-long journey takes NASA flight engineer José Hernández from a rural village in Michoacán, Mexico, to the fields of the San Joaquin Valley, to more than 200 miles above the Earth in the International Space Station. And his hard-working and dedicated family are there to support him every step of the way.

This amazing story of dedication of the first migrant farm worker who went to space by becoming an astronaut will leave you inspired. Make sure to catch the film when it is available to stream on Amazon Prime Video on September 15!
