Official Trailer Released for 'Harold And The Purple Crayon'

The official trailer for the new film “Harold and the Purple Crayon” has been released.

Hollywood releases hundreds of movies in any given year. Because of streaming services like Hulu, Netflix and Disney+, more content is being produced and released than ever before. Some of those Hollywood films will go directly to those popular streaming sites, while others will still go to the theater before hitting Netflix or Hulu.

Due to the high demand for content, Hollywood goes to multiple places looking for stories and plots for their movies. One of their most popular places to go searching for content is the written word. Books are constantly being turned into movies. Some of the biggest movies of all time were books before they ever hit the big screen.

One of the latest books to get the movie treatment is the beloved children’s tale “Harold and the Purple Crayon.” The book, written and illustrated by Crockett Johnson, is about a young man named Harold, who creates an entire universe with the help of a magic purple crayon and his imagination.

In the official trailer for the film, posted on YouTube, Zachary Levi stars as a grown-up Harold. Despite his age, Harold still uses the magical purple crayon to create all kinds of fantastic and imaginative items.

From the film’s short trailer, “Harold and the Purple Crayon” appears to be a sweet and cute film intended for the entire family.

In addition to Zachary playing the title character, the film also features the talents of comedian Lil Rel Howery and Zooey Deschanel from the popular and long-running sitcom “New Girl.”

According to IMDB, the film has been rated PG for mild action and thematic elements.

“Harold and the Purple Crayon” will open in theaters on August 2, 2024.
