Disney's 'The Gift' Showcases The Power Of Giving This Christmas - Movies

I’m not crying–you’re crying! Disney’s ‘The Gift’ showcases the power of giving at Christmas that will no doubt leave you misty-eyed with a smile on your face and the need to give your loved ones a tight squeeze. 

The Christmas season is on its way as we deck the halls and wait in anticipation for the joy that the meaning of the season brings. 

For many, when we think of Christmas, our thoughts immediately go to the gifts nestled under the tree, the twinkling lights, and gathering with our beloved family members. 

This incredible video follows the youngest member of the family as she tries to adjust to the new family changes that are coming her way. As the baby of the family, she is used to being the center of attention but her family is getting ready to welcome a new baby. 

At the heart of the story is a soft, stuffed plushy that connects the past, present, and future as her big brother had given her a glow-in-the-dark Mickey Mouse toy that comforts this sweet little girl at night. It soon becomes the comfort toy she takes with her everywhere. 

Her plushy can be seen when her dad is making pancakes for breakfast or when she asks her mama to take her ice skating. It’s next to her when the family is cozied up in the living room making Christmas crafts, and it’s in her arms as her parents leave for the hospital when it’s time for her youngest sibling to make its way into this bright, beautiful world. 

She clings to her favorite toy as she looks outside late at night, watching the snow fall and waiting for her parents to come home. 

Finally, the big day arrives when her parents come home with the newest family addition in tow. The sweet little girl can’t help but fall in love with her new sibling as she stares in wonder at the baby nestled in her bassinet while cuddling with her Mickey Mouse. 

It’s in that moment when her heart understands it's more blessed to give than to receive, and she passes on the comfort of her beloved Mickey Mouse. 

I couldn’t help but wipe the tears from my eyes as she stares down at her sibling with Mickey Mouse lying next to her baby sibling. What a beautiful way to celebrate the gift of Christmas.
