Family Supports Wheelchair-Bound Father As He Shares First Dance With Daughter

One man did not let the fact that he is confined to a wheelchair keep him from dancing with his daughter at her wedding.

Weddings, the following reception and all the events surrounding that special day are often emotional, causing many people to spring a leak from their eyes. Whether it’s the exchanging of vows, watching the bride make her way down the aisle or another time-honored tradition, there are plenty of reasons to get teary-eyed at weddings.

A clip posted on YouTube captured a special moment between a bride and her father, who is wheelchair-bound. The man and his family refused to allow him to miss out on the father-daughter dance. So, instead of dad and daughter not partaking in the tradition at her wedding reception, the family devised a sweet and simple plan.

As the short, 2-minute video shows, the father and his newly-married little girl take the dance floor together as dad has two women standing on both sides of him, helping to hold him upright.

Right from the get-go, the moment is already overwhelming for the bride. In the clip’s opening seconds, the woman who recently said, “I do,” is spotted brushing away tears from her eyes. Understandably, Dad also appears to be emotional from the outset.

Then, about 40 seconds into the clip, a third woman walks out onto the dance floor and assists with the magical moment between father and daughter. Approximately a minute later, the father and daughter are joined by a fourth woman, who lends her help.

How any of the people in the clip made it through that dance without becoming nothing but a puddle of tears is likely to remain a mystery to most people. Regardless, that special moment between father-daughter and the family who helped to make that dance happen is undoubtedly one that none of them will ever forget.
