'Mrs. Harris Goes To Paris' Feature Film Based On Best-Selling Novel

Mark your calendars for this feature film. You certainly don’t want to miss out. Can you imagine anything more lovely or dreamy than picking out a couture dress in Paris? The blockbuster movie, ‘Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris’ feature film is based on the best-selling novel of the same title published in 1958 by Paul Gallico.

The tale set in the 1950s begins when a widowed house cleaner by the name of Mrs. Ada Harris decides to go on a heartwarming adventure to go to Paris in order to buy a Christian Dior couture gown.

She scrimps and saves every penny to own a one-of-a-kind gown. Now, this isn’t any gown, it’s the gown of her dreams. Lesley Mannville plays the role of Mrs. Ada Harris who encounters several hardships along the way. At one point, a snide, wealthy, high-class woman tells Ada, “A Dior dress is designed to astonish. How will you do that Mrs. Harris? You are a nobody–invisible.”

But when doubt begins to fill Ada’s heart and she feels as if she is out of her lane, a friend reminds Ada she isn’t just a cleaning lady from London. He reframes her thoughts and tells Ada that she’s a cleaning lady ‘who dreams of the most beautiful gown in the world.’

And so begins the quest to own a Dior dress with adventure, love, and discovery along the way. As Ada’s adventure unfolds, she shows everyone it’s not what’s on the outside that counts like titles and money, but what’s on the inside like love, kindness, patience, and joy. These are the attributes God adorns us with much like a Dior couture dress of our souls.

If you haven’t read the book, you might want to pick up a copy and then head to the theaters in July when this dreamy, sophisticated, and enchanting film is released and be ready to be swept off your feet by the magic of Mrs. Harris!
