Sermon: "Peace in Our Time!" Part 1, Rev. Richard Scott MacLaren, First Presbyterian Church Perkasie, PA
A wise man once prayed that the Lord would give him neither poverty nor wealth, but just his daily bread. We might understand why he didn't want poverty, but who among us doesn't want to be wealthy? What could be wrong with that? The old Jewish king Hezekiah learned firsthand the dangers posed by prosperity. Watch as Pastor MacLaren shows from Isaiah 39 how Hezekiah's failure points us to Jesus, the greater Son of David who accomplished what Hezekiah could not. This sermon was preached at First Presbyterian Church in Perkasie, PA (www.firstchurchopc.org). Rev. MacLaren is the pastor. All rights are reserved.

A Prayer for Spending Money - Your Daily Prayer - May 29
No one is immune to the negative hold that money can have on our hearts in plenty or in want. I am a spender. I like to shop and get new things. However, God has taught me throughout my life to pray about my spending and to listen to the still, small voices that lead me in my financial decisions. God desires us to live a life of generosity, putting God before money. We cannot serve both God and money.
