Young Woman's Moving Call To Late Mom To Inform Her Of Good News
A young woman called and left a message for her late mother to inform her of something good that recently happened to her.
Sadly, and ironically, death is a simple but horrible fact of life. It’s an inescapable part of being alive and being human. Everyone will, at one point or another, experience death.
Knowing that death is something that eventually comes to everyone means that all will have encounters with death before actually passing away themselves. This is by far the most challenging aspect of dying: losing a close loved one, like a parent. It’s an experience that will never get any easier, no matter how many times we go through it.
A sweet but heartbreaking clip shows a young woman, a medical student, who reached out to her mother to tell her that she had gotten into her top residency program. However, her mother, who she called and left a message for, had passed away.
Paighton Noel’s phone call follows a similar call she made to her mother in 2020. At that time, Paighton phoned her mother to let her know she had been accepted to the University of Utah’s medical school.
The aspiring doctor said that while some may believe her to be crazy for calling and leaving a message for her deceased mother, she knew she had to do it.
“So, it just felt like it would be crazy to not include her in that moment, even though it might sound odd to call my deceased mother,” Paighton said. “I just felt like I was missing my person, and my person’s my mom.”
While fighting through tears, Paighton left a voicemail letting her mother know she would be an OBGYN at UNC-Chapel Hill in North Carolina.
We can never be sure how much time we have left with our loved ones, so we must cherish every moment.
Romans 14:8 “For whether we live, we live to the Lord; and whether we die, we die to the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we as the Lord’s.”

My prayer for your heart and mine to this season, is that we would look to the fullness we have received in our relationship with God the Father. He has promised to counsel us, shepherd us, and sustain us through this time and all the temptations that come up against us.
