'America The Beautiful' Michael W. Smith Performs At The Grand Ole Opry

Contemporary Christian artist Michael W. Smith honors our country with a stunning rendition of ‘America The Beautiful’ at the Grand Ole Opry.

Samuel Ward originally composed this beloved classic in 1883. A few years later, Katharine Lee Bates added the lyrics that we know and love today.

‘O beautiful for spacious skies,
For amber waves of grain,
For purple mountain majesties
Above the fruited plain!’

Michael W. Smith has been a staple in the Christian music world for decades. Since the early 80s, Michael has been using his musical talent to lead the world in worship. He’s charted on both Christian and secular music charts with hits such as ‘Place In This World’ and ‘Above All.’ Over the years, Michael has won countless awards, including 3 Grammy’s, and he was a 2009 inductee into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame.

Today, Michael is at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, Tennessee for a very special performance of ‘America The Beautiful.’ There is no doubt that you will be touched as he belts out these lyrics of love for our country.

‘America! America!
God shed His grace on thee
And crown thy good with brotherhood
From sea to shining sea!’

Even in these uncertain times, we know that will need to come together as brothers and sisters in Christ. When we turn our eyes upon Jesus, He will lead the way.

Psalm 33:12 “Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD, the people whom he has chosen as his heritage!”
