Disney's Aladdin Trailer Has Us Eagerly Awaiting This Live Action Remake - Movies

Disney fans are you ready for the newest feature film recreation of a classic animated Disney princess story? If genies in a lamp and magic carpet rides get you excited, so will this trailer for this live action reboot of Disney’s “Aladdin.” It’s safe to say fans from all over the age spectrum have their eyes on this film. It’s truly beloved Disney film that boasts so many easily remembered songs that to this day conjure up heartfelt nostalgia.

Just like they did with ‘Beauty and the Beast’, creators have only given us a tiny glimpse into the film. It’s everything you would expect if at all familiar with the Disney version of “Aladdin”. Sweeping deserts, intense voices, hidden treasures and of course the famous reference to “the diamond in the rough”. But even though this trailer didn’t offer us a lot of visual information what we took from it is that Disney knows this story is a well-beloved one and the stakes are high!

“Aladdin” has been filming in England and in Jordan the past year. We’re sure the scenery alone will be truly stunning and the cast looks to be just as powerful. The original animated genie was played by actor/comedian Robin Williams and the world is still reeling from the beloved actor’s suicide. One of the most icon roles that Robin is best remembered for is his amazing take on the genie. That role will now go to talented actor, Will Smith. While he has big shoes to fill, it’s important to remember that this film is being promoted as an action-based storyline so what we know from the animated film may be changed a bit. Aladdin (Mena Massoud), Jasmine (Naomi Scott) and Jafar (Marwan Kenzari) are sure to exude that Disney charm that we all know and love. We can’t wait to be captivated by this 3-wishes-story in May 2019!
