In the old movies about the wild west, a small town would be unsettled by the arrival of an outlaw and his gang of thugs. The outlaw would threaten to takeover the town from the peaceful farmers and settlers unless they did what he told them to do. He was a big man when he had his gun and a gang of thugs with him, but take these things away from him, and he wasn't quite so bold. Isaiah tells of a real life thug in the ancient world who held up the city of Jerusalem. Would they sacrifice their faith in the Lord for the promise of safety and prosperity from the Assyrian empire? Watch as Pastor MacLaren speaks of the psychological warfare that Satan and his humanist friends use to try to discourage God's people and persuade them to abandon their faith.
