What are spots, wrinkles and blemishes on our wedding dress?

Jesus is so ultimately compassionate. I believe we are all haunted by a deep sense of unworthiness and fear of who we truly are. But Jesus is the tender lover who looks upon us with the utmost compassion and intention to heal all our ‘dis-eases.’ Especially the things that continue to haunt us…shortcomings the devils make a big deal out of as they try to defer our attention from the Lord to ourselves.

The truth is, there is probably no one on this earth with a perfect wedding dress. That’s my best guess. So if we don’t cover up our true fallen nature but come to Him in abject humility, He will never turn us down.

“Lord, forgive me, my dress is soiled, I fallen in the mud…a g a i n … please pick me up and cleanse me of the things I am powerless to change about myself. Your compassion and grace is my ONLY hope, I throw myself on Your Mercy and know You will never let me down. Please Lord, make me ready for that day.”

One thing the Lord cannot resist, sincere, deep and heart rending contrition. Oh how He loves us and longs to hear our cry for help.
