Get to Know the Holy Spirit - Sermon Videos

Welcome to this Saturday’s edition of the Summer Discipleship Program. I am Jim Loper, and our focus on Saturday is: Get to Know the Holy Spirit

(1 Cor. 13:14 NKJV) 14The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all. Amen.
Now this verse tells us 2 things we need to know about the Holy Spirit.
First, you can know Him and have communion or fellowship with Him.
Second, since it is possible to know Him and have fellowship with Him, then He is a person, not an “it”, nor a “force” nor a “power”, nor a “ghost”, nor a “spook” nor…a “bird”.
Then who is He?
He is God the Spirit, the third person of the Trinity. The Bible teaches that there is One God Who eternally exists in three persons, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
The Holy Spirit is God the Spirit.
(1 John 5:7 NKJV) 7For there are three that bear witness in heaven: the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit; and these three are one.
And Jesus has sent Him into the life of every true believer in Jesus to do three things, and we are going to talk about those three things this summer.
First, the Holy Spirit dwells in the believer in order to give his spirit eternal life. Second, The Holy Spirit abides with the believer in order to be his Helper. Third, The Holy Spirit comes upon the believer to empower him for supernatural ministry.
