Is Gain Always Godly? (Contentment)

Is Gain Always Godly? (Contentment)

Did you know that covetousness is more than wanting other people's stuff?

Prayer for contentment:
"Godliness with contentment is great gain" - 1Timothy 6:6
Lord God, thank you for the gift of godliness that I realize is great gain for me. Yet, sometimes, I don't feel content. Help me to experience a greater sense of contentment in my life. Father, supply me with the things that are my true needs. I thank you for always supplying all of my needs according to your riches in glory through Christ Jesus. I feel great contentment from your promise that your blessing gives one a rich and full supply and you add no sorrow to your promise. Thank you for your peace through my Lord, Jesus Christ. Father, teach me to be content with the things that I have instead of feeling discontented and wanting more. Help me to learn, as Paul did, to be content in whatever state I find myself. I know that it is better to have a little when I'm walking with you than to have great treasure along with great trouble. With your help, I want my eye to be satisfied with what it sees, and my ears to be satisfied with what they hear. Having food and clothing and all your other blessings you give to me, I will be content and rejoice in you, O Lord God! I put my trust in you, Father and I have great joy! Thank you for the awesome promises you have given to me: that good and mercy will follow me all the days of my life and that I will dwell in your house forever. Your promises give me a full sense of contentment and I thank you in Jesus name. Amen.
