Trust: Psalm 40 - "I waited patiently for the Lord"
Psalm 40. Climbing the ladder of faith. With the Lord's blessing, this is 4th in our Psalms readings! Thanks to my sister in Christ, Christa Rosier, for use of her Psalms Paintings: A woman is seen holding on to a ladder, in an attempt to survive. Made of grapevine, the ladder emerges, rooted in mire. In time new vine-shoot strengthens, thickens as it twists towards light. Once in the light the fruit will ripen. The ladder symbolises faith, which grows and strengthens during dark times in our lives. When our reality is pain-filled, we can grow in faith. Our faith is not to be based on vague supposition, but rooted firmly in the Word of God in order to grow and bear fruit. Read by Cynthia M. Clarke from New King James version of the Bible. A Prayer for Spending Money - Your Daily Prayer - May 29
No one is immune to the negative hold that money can have on our hearts in plenty or in want. I am a spender. I like to shop and get new things. However, God has taught me throughout my life to pray about my spending and to listen to the still, small voices that lead me in my financial decisions. God desires us to live a life of generosity, putting God before money. We cannot serve both God and money.
