4th Grader Sends A Letter To Heaven And Gets An Incredible Response
September 24, 2020

Children sometimes surprise us by the marvelous things they do whether giving much needed reaffirmation or offering generous hugs. One child sends a letter to heaven and gets an incredible response.
A sweet little 9-year-old girl named Laynee Reese wrote a letter and sent it to the local post office where she lives in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. The postal workers have seen letters addressed to many places, but to Heaven -- well, they don’t get that every day.

"I have received and received a lot of letters through the mail stream but none that have been addressed to Heaven," said Bartlesville Postmaster Justin Wilson.
“I just wanted to talk to them,” Laynee explained about writing the letter. She addressed her letter to heaven, God, and deceased family members. “I hope you are happy,” she writes. “Some of you I haven’t met you, but I still love you.”

Her words are absolutely precious and moved the employees that heard about her letter. The outcome of her work was unexpected, not just for Laynee, but also for her family.
"You always have doubts that you aren't doing stuff right and then something like that happens. It makes you feel like you are doing something right," Laynee’s mother, Casey Reese, remarked about trying to raise her children into good people. Laynee has a younger brother who is 7 named, Huck.
“I love my grandkids. They have got big hearts, they are special, they are beautiful,” Laynee’s grandmother Kathy Reese added.
The members of Bartlesville Post Office put money together to buy presents, a journal, and toys for Laney, and a bunch of Mickey Mouse- themed items for Huck.

Writing a letter like little Laynee is like sending up our prayers to Heaven. Sometimes waiting for a reply is hard. The wait can produce feelings of anxiety, but the wait from God is always worthwhile.
“Rejoice in the Lord always: again I will say, Rejoice. Let your forbearance be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand. In nothing be anxious; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:4-7)
