No One's Perfect?

No One's Perfect?

Tongues and prophecies will cease when “the perfect” comes. Can the “perfect” only refer to the Son of Man returning as Pentecostals and Charismatics like to claim? Or can it mean what traditional Christians took it to mean: the foundation of the Body of Messiah or the completing of the Holy Scriptures?

This is a quick run-through of the meaning of the Greek and Hebrew words for “perfect” and it confidently reveals there’s no reason to think the word can only refer to Messiah or Adonai. Many other things can be called “perfect” in biblical usage, including people and the law of God. So never forget: the Bible plainly states the ending of at least two of the miracle sign gifts. It is no surprise that our observation tells us the same thing.

Bless you brothers. Thank you for listening.
