Commune Daily With God, Part 2 (The Prayer Motivator Devotional #182)
Our prayer motivator verse from the Word of God today is Lamentations 3:41 which reads: “Let us lift up our heart with our hands unto God in the heavens.”
Our prayer motivator quote today is from Brother Lawrence. He said: “There is not in the world a kind of life more sweet and delightful than that of a continual conversation with God.”
Our prayer motivator devotional today is part 2 of our series titled “COMMUNE DAILY WITH GOD IN PRAYER” from Dr. Curtis Hutson.
Dr. Curtis Hutson tells a personal story of a time when God worked a miracle for him and his wife through prayer. He said, “After resigning my job at the Post Office in 1961 and trusting God to provide our needs, I saw many wonderful answers to prayer. One night my wife and I were standing in our kitchen crying because we could not pay our bills. We stacked the bills on the kitchen stove and laid our hands on them and prayed that God would supply the need.
“In the middle of the prayer we were interrupted by a knock on the door. It was past midnight. Here stood a couple crying. They handed us a check and said, ‘God woke us up and told us to bring you this money.’ When they left, we found the check was for the same amount as the bills!”
Prayer is not only God’s way for us to ask for things, but it is also God’s way for the believer to receive forgiveness and cleansing. First John 1:8-9 says, “If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

A Prayer for Spending Money - Your Daily Prayer - May 29
No one is immune to the negative hold that money can have on our hearts in plenty or in want. I am a spender. I like to shop and get new things. However, God has taught me throughout my life to pray about my spending and to listen to the still, small voices that lead me in my financial decisions. God desires us to live a life of generosity, putting God before money. We cannot serve both God and money.
