Peter preached the Sermon: Not Tongues
On the day of Pentecost, there were a hundred and twenty disciples waiting for the baptism of the Holy Spirit. When the spirit fell upon them they begin to speak in another tongues (different languages) inspired by the Holy Spirit. There were Jews from 18 different areas of the world that heard what was occurring in Jerusalem. They came to hear the hundred and twenty speak in their tongues wherein they were born, "the wonderful works of God". The tongues was for a sign to the unbelieving Jews. It was done to catch their attention. Peter preached the sermon that resulted in three thousand being saved and added to the church (assembly). Peter spoke to them in the Hebrew tongue, all Jews knew their language regardless of what nation that they were born in.

A Prayer for Your Child to Be Bold for the Gospel - Your Daily Prayer - May 22
My prayer today is that we will not hinder children from knowing the Lord. Instead, let us pray that their boldness will arise. But let us also remember we cannot pray for our children to be bold in their faith if we aren’t bold enough to teach them!
