2009-10-25 His Word is Better - Part 1
The Bible is referred to in many different images. In Jeremiah 23:29, it is called a hammer that breaks up the hardened heart. It is also called a fire that burns in the soul. In Psalm 119:105, it is referred to as a lamp and a light to guide the way. In 1 Peter 1:23, it is called food for the soul. In James 1:22-25, it is a mirror that shows us as we really are. My favorite is Hebrews 4:12-13, referred to as a double edged sword. Today, we want to let the Word do It's work in our hearts.
