WHY WAS THE FIRST COVENANT REPLACED?

WHY WAS THE FIRST COVENANT REPLACED?

God made the first covenant with the Israelites, the Jewish people, after they left Egypt. Later on, a new covenant was announced to the Israelites through the prophet Jeremiah (Jer. 31: 31-34). Why was a new covenant announced to the Israelites? Because God found fault with the people (see Heb. 8: 7-8, 13). Although a new covenant was announced to the Israelites in Old Testament times, it was not established until the death of Jesus (Heb. 10: 3-10; 1 Cor. 11: 23-27). The new covenant is for the world, Jews and Gentiles (John 3: 16; Eph. 3: 6).

Dispensational teachers claim that the first covenant is eternal. This teaching is not supported by the Scriptures and it is therefore false. Please read and study your Bible. Do not be lead astray by false teachers.
