Virtual Choir Performs 'You Are My Anchor' Classic Hymn

David Wesley leads an incredible gospel choir of over 150 people in this soul-stirring performance of ‘You Are My Anchor.’ Stuart Townsend originally wrote this classic hymn and it is inspired by the verses in Psalm 27.

“You are my anchor, my light and my salvation.
You are my refuge, my heart will not fear.
Though my foes surround me on every hand,
They will stumble and fall while in grace I stand.”

David Wesley is a talented artist from Cobourg, Ontario. On his Facebook page, David describes himself as a “self-producing artist creating multi-track magic in my basement to share the gospel and have a little fun on the side.”

Over the years, he’s created many stunning gospel arrangements such as ‘Oceans (Where Feet May Fail)’ and an a cappella medley of the evolution of worship music. Today, he’s taking on a classic hymn with this beautiful arrangement of ‘You Are My Anchor’ and it was no easy feat. “This virtual choir version was brought to life by 150 singers and ASL interpreters from 37 countries. They had only 7 days to learn, record, and upload their performance.”

As you listen to these words, be reminded that God is the source of our light and our strength each and every day.

“One thing I will ask of You, this will I pray:
To dwell in Your house, O Lord, every day;
To gaze upon Your lovely face,
And rest in the Father’s embrace.”

James 1:17 “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change.”
