Hindrances to Prayer, Part 10 (The Prayer Motivator Devotional #421)

SCRIPTURE: Acts 6:1-4, "And in those days, when the number of the disciples was multiplied, there arose a murmuring of the Grecians against the Hebrews, because their widows were neglected in the daily ministration. Then the twelve called the multitude of the disciples unto them, and said, It is not reason that we should leave the word of God, and serve tables. Wherefore, brethren, look ye out among you seven men of honest report, full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business. But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word."

PERSONAL ENCOURAGEMENT: There is a special blessing that comes when you pray for other people. Make it a point to pray for your family members, your friends, your coworkers, your pastor, and your church. Prayer will make all the difference in these relationships.

QUOTE: Gordon M. Guinness, "How terrible is the cost of robbing God of time for prayer. When we rob God of time for quiet, we are robbing Him of ourselves. It is only in the quiet that we can really know Him and know ourselves, and be sure that we give ourselves back to Him. Oh, for God's sake, do not risk keeping the windows of Heaven closed by robbing God of time."
