‘Pardoned By Grace’ Inspirational Film On Faith And Forgiveness

The new film “Pardoned by Grace” is based on the true story of one man, a former convict, who turned his life over to Christ and became a pastor.

Everyone has a past, likely sprinkled with things they’d like to be able to forget. For some, more than others, the past can truly haunt them, especially if their past actions land them in prison.

That was certainly the case with Scott Highberger, the central figure in the film “Pardoned by Grace.” The trailer for the new film, recently posted on YouTube, shows Scott landing in prison for several offenses. But as he’s doing his time, paying back his debt to society, something happens and changes inside of the convicted criminal.

The film opens with Scott, played by Joey Lawrence, wearing an orange jumpsuit, sitting in a jail cell looking down at a Bible as another man points to portions of Scripture.

Scott, during a voiceover in the film’s trailer, admits that he was the worst of the worst.

“I used to be an alcoholic, addict, felon,” Scott says.

But another man, who appears to be a friend or possibly a mentor to Scott, brushes aside Scott’s troubled past.

“I know, so what?” the man responds.

Several scenes in the film display Scott's frequent run-ins with law enforcement. But as he’s sitting in prison, he receives some terrific words of wisdom.

“So you choose to exercise sin,” one person in the film states. “It gets bigger and bigger until it consumes you. So, you exercise your faith, guess what? It gets stronger.”

By the end of the trailer, Scott is standing before his fellow prisoners preaching the Word of God.

The faith-based film about how God used a former convict to start a ministry aimed at those behind bars is currently streaming on PureFlix.

Romans 6:14 “For sin shall not have dominion over you: for you are not under the law, but under grace.”
