3-Legged Dog Was Almost Euthanized, Now He’s A Star On America’s Got Talent

An animal with a physical disability did not let that keep him from wowing the judges and the studio audience on America’s Got Talent.

Animals, and dogs specifically, are extremely resilient creatures. They get abused or mistreated and continually bounce back, exhibiting nothing but love, trust and kindness. Show a dog a little love and kindness, and you’ve got a friend for life.

Bogart, a cute and furry contestant on America’s Got Talent, is a perfect example of strength and persistence. Before his audition on the program, viewers learned a little about Bogart’s background.

In a clip posted on YouTube, Heather, Bogart’s owner, mentioned how the sweet and lovable animal narrowly escaped being put down.

“Bogart was at a kill shelter, where he was going to get euthanized,” Heather said. “And our rescue was able to save him. For some reason, he never got adopted. And then we took him out one night, and we took him out the next night. And he was ours by the next Thursday.”

While Bogart was doing well with his new family, enjoying life and excelling in obedience classes, the animal encountered a health issue.

“And then we discovered a bump on his leg,” Heather said. “And it ended up being cancer. We were shocked. They sent us to a specialist, and we decided that taking the leg would give the best chance at life.”

Bogart had a hard time adjusting following the removal of his leg. He was down, and depressed and had his owner, Heather, wondering whether he was going to make it.

But then, one day Bogart decided enough was enough. He was ready to head back to obedience classes.

Following a brief back-and-forth with the judges, Bogart turned in a stunning performance. He showed off his skill and agility, moving through obstacles with the ease and speed of a dog with four legs.

Bogart’s outstanding performance earned him four emphatic yes votes from the judges!

Genesis 1:21 “And God created great whales, and every living creature that moves, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good.”
