Man's Enchanting Pan Flute Rendition Of 'Colors Of The Wind' From Pocahontas

Sit back and savor Raimy Salazar’s enchanting pan flute rendition of “Colors of the Wind” from Disney’s Pocahontas. It will be 4:22 minutes well spent!

The 30-year-old Andean musician was born in Otavalo, Ecuador, and is an Inca (a.k.a. Inka) Indian. Here, he performs from a peak on Chimborazo, which is an inactive volcano in the Cordillera Occidental mountain range in the Andes.

The landscape is stunning and provides a mystical backdrop for Raimy’s video. So, although the music is mesmerizing when enjoyed with eyes closed, the view, as well as the musician’s artistic movements and authentic dress further enhance the breathtaking performance.

As Raimy approaches the microphone positioned at the summit, he wears a beautifully woven mask over his mouth. Perhaps, he uses the mask to protect his throat and lungs from exposure to cool air before playing? He glances through the fog toward the neighboring mountains, the valley and lagoons below, and the sky. He removes and pockets his mask, revealing a serene smile just before starting to play.

Raimy first plays the quena – the traditional flute of the Andes. He switches to the pan flute at 1:45, delivering lovely, soothing sounds from both instruments.

The video captures the road below, but it isn’t until the camera pans out at 2:30 and again at 3:05 that we can clearly see the spot on which Raimy stands. It’s hard to imagine being calm enough at such heights to deliver such a soothing performance!

Over 2,000 viewers from all over the world have commented on Raimy’s version of “Colors of the Wind.” They express their gratitude and appreciation, using words like “magnificent,” “hypnotizing,” and “extraordinary.”

One wrote, “This is so beautifully done. The landscape, the instruments, and the tune all perfectly aligned!”

Another shared, “This has touched my heart and brought me home.”

God provided the incredible beauty, and, with His help, Raimy provided the intoxicating sound!

“The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands.” Psalms 19:1
