National Seminar 2011

The Purpose of United Methodist Women is “The organized unit of United Methodist Women shall be a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.”
As part of Melody Yang’s sermon at First United Methodist Church of Roseville on Sunday, August 28, 2011, she proclaimed “I was blessed to be selected as a few to attend this year’s United Methodist Women National Seminar on August 13th - 18th in Birmingham, AL. It was such a great honor representing you, First United Methodist Church, our District, Conference, and Hmong United Methodists across the global. The National Seminar was the best social justice leadership development event for me as a United Methodist.
