“SHED SOME LIGHT ON ITâ€
This phrase is used to speak of gaining insight on something is unclear. We use this when confused about a piece of information in the news, when uncertain how to interpret an email or letter, when disheartened with a decision. Shedding some light on these will make sense of it. It simply means to reveal something more. It’s a phrase that parallels the purpose behind the last book of our Bibles. Notice the progression: God unveiled something to Jesus…who passed it on to his angelic courier…who was sent to show to the apostle John…who recorded what he saw & heard for the Church. We know this as the Revelation (literally, apocalypse). It was simply the unveiling, the pulling back of the curtain, the divine violà , when God shed some light on the present and future hope of Christ-followers. It’s a glorious vision, not meant to frighten those devoted to Christ. It’s a word of hope for the faithful. If we are faithful, we will live pure uncompromising lives. Pure lives in a corrupt world may result in suffering. When experiencing suffering, hope in Christ as Victor is what keeps us buoyed up!! So, anticipate!!!!!
