Psalm 42 - Narration and Music - Psalms Collection
'As the deer pants for the water brooks, so my soul pants after you.' Psalm 42 begins with this beautiful, heart-felt yearning for God. In this psalm, the writer is seeking God, because his enemies mock him, saying, 'Where is your God?' In the psalm, the writer remembers how he used to go up to God's temple and praise God. What he feels now is depressed. He still yearns to praise God, but it is not easy. Praising God in times of depression certainly is not easy, but our joy need not be in our circumstances, but can be found in God himself.
