Every parent knows that raising a child is not easy and raising a teenager is especially difficult. It seems like there is a new twist every other day and just when you get the hang of it, something changes again.

Motivational speaker Josh Shipp knows this all too well and he brilliantly summed up how to parent a teenager is just 90 seconds. Josh compared teenagers to the lap bar on a roller coaster. When you get into a roller coaster, one of the first things a person does is to pull on to the lap bar and make sure it is properly restraining you. You don't want the lap bar to fail, you want to make sure that it will hold you in safely and securely.

This is just like teenagers who will test you, as a parent, to see if you hold. I love how he uses this simple analogy to really bring a light to raising a teen. It's definitely not easy, but with faith and persistence we can all make it through!
