I wrote this song on a mission trip to Peru. As I looked into the eyes of the poor, the lost, the hurting and the addicted, I felt a greater desire to give up all I needed to give up in order to give what I needed to give.

I became a Christian in 1975 when God rescued me out of drugs, alcohol, witchcraft etc. I have not lived a perfect life but I have sought to please God in most of my ways. Writing the words of this song was my way of saying to God "I want to live for you in all my ways". To surrender anything and everything that could hold me back from living wholeheartedly for Him. There is nothing more important than to live for the things of heaven, to live for the things that are most important to God. God so loved the world that He gave His only Son so that we could be rescued from an Eternity of separation from God in hell. If I love Him with my whole heart, I too and going to love the world (meaning the people of the world) in such a way, that I am willing to sacrifice whatever I need to sacrifice in order to get them the message that changed my destiny and brought me out of darkness into His marvelous light.
