Swim Instructor Helps Frightened Toddler With Inspiring Mantra

A man teaching a toddler how to swim asked the little girl to recite a phrase to help her overcome her fears, and the results are just too cute.

As the temperatures and humidity increase, more and more people will opt to partake in water-related activities. Those can be fun for people who know how to navigate bodies of water. However, for other people who aren’t strong swimmers or don’t know how to swim, those activities can be dangerous.

That’s why teaching children, who usually love jumping into the nearest pool, how to swim is a good idea. But like anything else, new and unfamiliar, swimming can be scary at first.

In a video posted on Facebook, one man, Tyler Reed, showed how he helped and tried to encourage a toddler to overcome her fears of swimming. It’s a short, sweet and to-the-point phrase.

Tyler, while standing in the pool, faces the little lady and has her recite after him.

“I’m big,” Tyler says. “I’m brave. I’m beautiful.”

When it’s the child’s turn to repeat the mantra, she tries but doesn’t say it 100 percent right. Nevertheless, it’s still super cute!

“I big,” the child says. “I brae. I’m boofuball”

According to Sunny Skyz, Tyler is an instructor at an aquatic training center in Tampa Bay, Florida.

The touching video ends with Tyler telling the little aspiring swimmer to “come here, give me huggies.” The young lady embraces her instructor in a tender hug.

What a beautiful example of someone exhibiting care, love and patience for another who may not be totally ready to take the next step in her training.

As Tyler no doubt knows and shows with the mantra he has the child recite, having confidence in oneself is a big help when trying anything new or different.

Proverbs 3:26 “For the Lord shall be your confidence, and shall keep your foot from being taken.”
