Hold Me Up

Hold Me Up

Early in the Fall of 2008 Joey Daddario and Jeanie Scheff began songwriting together in the sanctuary of the Memorial United Methodist Church in Fernandina Beach, FL. The ancient structure proved to be a great meeting place because of its amazing acoustics old design combined with the warmth of age-old wood. Also, it provided somewhat of a safe solace; a fortress of generational faith.

What doesn't show in the video are the tears streaming down peoples faces as the song was performed; truly an endearing and touching moment.

One of the songs born out of these songwriting ventures was Hold Me Up. Pastors of the church asked the duo if they could perform the song at Sunday service for All Saints Day. This took place on November 9th, 2008.

"These words Hold Me Up in bad times; yes Your promises rejuvenate me." (Psalm 119:49-50).

In the original recording Jeanie introduces the song as follows:

When we prayed in here we felt the generations that had come before us and that lifted us up in this room and this song came from God.

Enjoy and God Bless.
