when i originally wrote this song some 20 years ago, there were many things about the state of the world that disturbed me. most of those things are much worse now and new issues have come along.

with this video, my intent is to plant a seed. a seed that can be nurtured and grow into something bigger. it's too easy to sit back and be apathetic. it often seems difficult to actually do something. after all, what can you or i do as just one person against these huge out of control problems ?



a lot actually. it starts with changing our perceptions. the very act of thinking about it in a positive way helps to give it some motion. that slight bit of movement can soon gain momentum and before long become what we once thought impossible: changing.



but it has to start somewhere. this is my somewhere. this is me reminding you that things are much too disturbing to ignore any longer. this is your "wake up" call.



the video is designed to push buttons and provoke a reaction. much of it is random, because it's not so important that the words and pictures make sense in the order they're presented. it's about the bigger picture. the horrors and hatreds so prevalent throughout the world. from simple racist thoughts to full blown intolerance and violent outbursts against anything "different". most all of us fall somewhere in there. but when we ignore it in ourselves and others is when it becomes stronger. unless we make a conscious effort to alter our thinking, and enlighten those around us, these negative things become part of the very fabric we're made of. they become acceptable. they become comfortable. in our apathy we're passing this on to the next generation. which is why every day things are getting worse, not better.
