War Veteran And 5-Year-Old Tempy Sit Down For Heartwarming Conversation
5-year-old Temperance Pattinson proves that heroes come in all shapes and sizes.
This young girl from Darlington, England may not know anyone in the British Armed Forces, but that hasn't stopped her from doing her part to help raise money for these brave men and women.
Temperance, or Tempy as she likes to be called, joined up with Help For Heroes to raise money for veterans through challenges of physical endurance. “Even though I didn’t know any of the soldiers, I just thought that they did something for us. I thought I could give a present back to them.”
Tempy has completed a 5k run and even a mini-triathlon. That’s no small feat for this pint-sized inspiration. Today, Tempy is sitting down with Simon Brown, an ex-Ryoal Engineer who served in the British Armed Forces for 13 years.
In 2008, while on a rescue mission in Iraq, Simon was shot in the face by a sniper and lost his vision. He was forced to rebuild his life and learn to live as a blind man. But thanks to the support from organizations, such as Help For Heroes, Simon is happy and healthy.
Now, these two unlikely friends have come together for the sweetest conversation. Simon made it a point to say thank you to Temperance and others like her for their generosity and love. “People like you are our heroes.”
This is absolutely beautiful. Tempy is such an inspiration to many around the world and her kindness is a beacon of hope.

A Prayer of Comfort for Families Missing Their Fallen Military Heroes - Your Daily Prayer - May 27
Because the general public views them as fallen heroes deserving of patriotic honor, many may mistakenly think that this somehow helps to soften the blow of the loss to their family members. But for many families, it can be extremely difficult to accept and process, especially because their passing is without warning, unexpected, and with no opportunity to say goodbye.
