Chris Rupp Performs Willie Nelson's 'Always On My Mind'

Viral sensation Chris Rupp performs Willie Nelson’s classic song ‘Always On My Mind.’ For this performance, Chris is singing all three parts on his own.

“Maybe I didn't love you
Quite as often as I could have
Maybe I didn't treat you
Quite as good as I should have
If I made you feel second best
Girl I'm sorry I was blind
You were always on my mind”

Chris Rupp is quickly becoming a household name for his unique voice and arrangements. He rose to fame as an a cappella singing sensation in the group Home Free. Now, this talented singer is embarking on a solo career and each song is better than the last.

Today, he’s using his vocal skills for an extra special rendition of this Willie Nelson favorite. This song is a little bit different because Chris recorded three different parts, so it’s almost like a trio singing together. And he’s not only singing, but playing three different instruments as well. It must take so much time and practice to perfect a performance like this, but Chris makes it seem completely effortless.

I’m always in awe of how he can take a popular song and put his own unique spin on it. ‘Always On My Mind’ has an entirely different feel after this rendition. If you are a country music fan, than you can truly appreciate this remarkable cover. I hope we continue to hear more music like this from Chris Rupp. What did you think of this Willie Nelson tribute?
