Adopted Teen Shares Inspiration During American Idol Audition

Growing up, Johnny White didn't have it easy. He stayed in a shelter home for almost 2 years before he went into foster care at just 7-years-old. Thankfully, Johnny was adopted but moving in with people he didn't know was harder than he thought.

That's when Johnny turned to music to help him cope with his emotions and when he met his music teacher, Ms. Finley, everything began to change. This amazing teacher gave him the confidence to believe in himself and follow his dreams of pursuing music.

Today, Johnny is taking that dream all the way to audition stage of American Idol and he's giving it his all. Just listen as he shares his story and then gives a powerful performance of "It's A Man's Man's Man's World" by James Brown. And his big voice definitely impressed the judges and they sent him right through the Hollywood.

What an amazing moment and I know that Ms. Finley is beyond proud right now. I'm so glad that Johnny was able to find someone to give him the confidence he needed to break out of his shell and show the whole world that voice.
