LASTing Peace, Why Recovery Won't Stick

LASTing Peace, Why Recovery Won't Stick

I've been in the business of people watching. Lately, as I have scurried about, taking care of health problems, going to hospitals, doctors, and other places in between, I have taken note of people's expressions and their comments to me. I'm struck that almost everyone I ran into agreed on one thing; they would just like to have a little more peace in their lives.

We all seek a place of peace within ourselves, as we go about our lives, struggling with life's demands. But, confusion and fatigue appeared to rule in the lives of most people I met, and they had very little hope of finding peace. What rules our hearts determines whether we have peace. The war that rages there causes us to be unsettled, wondering where to find peace amidst the warring of our souls. How do we find peace in the middle of the war going on there?

Let the message about Christ, in all its richness, fill your lives. Teach and counsel each other with all the wisdom he gives. Sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs to God with thankful hearts."

People long for their souls to be at rest. Having peace in one's heart is a wonderful gift from God that all Christians have an opportunity to enjoy. The same God who had the power to save us, also has the power to give us rest if only we would, "let the peace of God rule in our hearts.” Why
